  • Program

(ISO) To design, write, and test programs.
  • Program

(ISO) A sequence of instructions suitable for processing. Processing may include the use of an assembler, a compiler, an interpreter, or another translator to prepare the program for execution. The instructions may include statements and necessary declarations.
  • Program Design Language (PDL)

(IEEE) A specification language with special constructs and, sometimes, verification protocols, used to develop, analyze, and document a program design.
  • Program Manager

Project manager in large information technology projects.
  • Program Mutation

(IEEE) A computer program that has been purposely altered from the intended version to evaluate the ability of program test cases to detect the alteration.
  • Program Pooling

Use of pre-packaged supplies across multiple protocols managed by Interactive Response Technology and unique label content.
  • Programmable Array Logic (PAL)

    A programmable logic chip.
  • Programmable Logic Array (PLA)

    A programmable logic chip.
  • Programmable Logic Device (PLD)

A logic chip that is programmed at the user's site.
  • Programmable Read Only Memory (PROM)

A chip which may be programmed by using a PROM programming device. It can be programmed only once. It cannot be erased and reprogrammed. Each of its bit locations is a fusible link. An unprogrammed PROM has all links closed establishing a known state of each bit. Programming the chip consists of sending an electrical current of a specified size through each link which is to be changed to the alternate state. This causes the "fuse to blow", opening that link.
  • Programmierstandards (FDA)

  • Programming Language

(IEEE) A language used to express computer programs.
  • Programming Specification

  • Programming Standards

(FDA) Written procedures describing coding (programming) style conventions, specifying rules governing the use of individual constructs provided by the programming language, and naming, formatting, and documentation requirements which prevent programming errors, control complexity and promote understandability of the source code.
  • Programming Standards

  • Programming Style Analysis

(IEEE) Analysis to ensure that all portions of the program follow approved programming guidelines.
  • Progressive Polishing

A mechanical grinding procedure where a coarse grit material is used first and the successive operations use finer and finer grit until the desired surface roughness is achieved.
  • Prohibited Drugs

These are drugs with toxicity or side-effects that outweigh their therapeutic usefulness, so that public health and welfare are protected by prohibiting their production, manufacture, export, import, trade, distribution, supply, possession or use, except in amounts required for medical and scientific research. Prohibited drugs are normally determined by the national or supranational registration/licensing authority.
  • Project Charter

Document that succinctly encapsulates the headlines of a project.
  • Project Controls

Control activities used to monitor, report and control cost, schedule, documentation and engineering changes - projects.
  • Project Delivery Strategy

Overall project summary that includes an introduction, business case, general project information, organizational chart, roles, responsibilities, project governance, critical issues, procurement and contracting strategy, commissioning and qualification, and handover strategy.
  • Project Director

Project manager in large capital engineering projects.
  • Project Execution Plan

A written plan for the project manager to communicate to the user and other stakeholders the approach to be taken for project execution.
  • Project Initiation

Commencement of activities that begin to define a project.
  • Project Leader

Project manager for a research and development type project (or Product Leader).
